TAMBACOUNDA REGION Senegal — Rebecca Semmes is a 26-year-old woman who like many others her age got restless when she neared her college graduation. She even prolonged her college experience with a master’s degree but when it was time to go out into the “real world” and get a real job she still had an itch to do something different. That’s when the Peace Corps officially entered her world and the organization has her halfway across the globe in the Senegal. “I’ve always liked to travel and experience other cultures so I’ve wanted to join Peace Corps ever since I first heard about it when I was a freshman in college” Semmes said.

In the first half of the match a Senegalese defender headed the ball into his own net to give the Nigerian side the 1-0 lead at the end of the first half of the match. According to the fixtures for the semi final matches on Monday in Ogharra venue of the championship Senegal will face Cote d’Ivoire while Ghana will play Burkina Faso. The final of the championship holds on Wednesday in Ogharra.

Guinea-Bissau bans demos after presidential attack

Two presidential guards died in the attack and several others were wounded. Nhaga said Saturday that the suspected ringleader had been arrested in Gambia and authorities were seeking to extradite him — apparently contradicting information that emerged from Senegal earlier in the week. Senegal said Wednesday that the suspected leader Alexandre Tchama Yala had been arrested in Dakar on Monday. Nhaga added that the country’s former deputy director for intelligence Alfredo Malu had also been arrested over the attack. Malu is believed to be close to former Guinea-Bissau president Kumba Yala who was overthrown by the army in 2003 and supervises his personal security. A total of eight people have been arrested including seven soldiers since the attack. In the last decade Guinea-Bissau one of the smallest and poorest countries in Africa has been plagued by a series of coups and attempted coups.

Sharks look towards Senegal for title
