n behalf of Kuwait’s Ambassador to Senegal Mohammad Sal Al-Thwaikh Third Secretary of the Embassy Hamad Ibrahim Al-Sallom attended the ceremony and made an address to the attendees. In his address Al-Sallom hailed the friendly ties between the Kuwaiti and Senegalese people. His Highness the Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah works with his friend Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade to cement the bilateral ties Al-Sallom said. He conveyed to the attendees the best wishes and greetings of the Kuwaiti people and government.

“The cowardly act of violence toward the French tourists was an act of terrorism” said Mauritania's Minister of the Interior Yall Zakaria Alassane in an address to lawmakers on Wednesday. “There are sleeper cells in Mauritania and one of them committed this act” he said. The manhunt for the three suspects that gunned down the four French tourists on Monday has been expanded to neighboring Senegal. Helicopters patrolled the border. Sidi Mouloud uld Brahim governor of the region where the attack occurred said the three suspects crossed the border into Senegal late Tuesday.
