Iowa State University Great Ape Trust create world’s pre-eminent…
RxPG NEWS – Aug 27, 2007
In addition to reporting tool use by chimpanzees in hunting Pruetz became the first to report chimps are seeking shelter in caves to get out of the extreme African heat. Hunting tools used in her discovery are expected to be included in a Smithsonian Institution exhibit in 2009 according to Richard Potts director Human rigins Program National Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian. Pruetz just returned from Senegal this summer and says that she witnessed more spearing by chimpanzees at the site — including a bout on her last day by an alpha male. Her previous research had indicated that females primarily used the hunting tools. If I continue to see males engage in the behavior — they still do it at a much lower frequency than other age-sex classes — then I would suspect that it is a behavior that is fairly recently developed she said. Adult males are normally the last individuals to pick up new behaviors introduced to primate social groups. The bigger news according to Pruetz was witnessing female chimps in possession of a bushbuck — the biggest prey that chimps eat anywhere.

With the pressure and expectancy for Ghana to cement their status as Africa’s no. 1 team constantly increasing Leroy said that it was imperative the Black Stars lift the ACN crown come the final on February 10. Talking to the Voice of Sport ahead of the recent Ghana – Senegal friendly which took place at the Millwall’s New Den Leroy enthused: “It will be a huge pressure but we know we have to win. “I have to assume responsibility of everything because it is so easy to blame others for things going wrong. You win the ACN on the attention to details. “The rest is important the message is important the balance of the team and the psychological level is very important everything matters. But we have the team to win this competition it won’t be easy and we are not the only team who could win it but with our fans behind us as usual it will be a fantastic opportunity… But we have the team to win this competition it won’t be easy and we are not the only team who could win it but with our fans behind us as usual it will be a fantastic opportunity. We don’t want the trophy to leave Ghana once it’s there. “The game against Senegal finished 1-1 and Leroy says although he would have preferred to have some competitive games to play in the run up to the start of the tournament he is glad to be pitted against high calibre teams. Ghana’s exploits in the 2006 Germany World Cup which featured the likes of captain Stephen Appiah Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien went a long way towards winning over sceptics of African football and enforced the notion that the continent will continue to make giant strides towards being considered a potent football force. Leroy admits that we probably won’t see the best of the Ghana side for a couple of years. He identified the World Cup in 2010 as the ideal time for his young team to flourish to its full potential. He said: “The winner of the ACN will probably come from Ghana Ivory Coast Nigeria Cameroon or Senegal.

is unbeatable when its shots are falling Johnson replied: "No doubt. When our shots are falling and when they’re not falling. " If Johnson sounds confident it’s because the U. has outscored its last two opponents Senegal and Australia by a combined 216-131. f course neither Senegal nor Australia is in the same hoops universe as Spain or Argentina which are mowing down the opposition on the other side of the bracket. That’s why Elton Brand said he hopes his teammates aren’t taking anyone for granted.
