Taifa Stars will on Saturday host Senegal in the 2008 African Cup of Nations Group Seven return leg qualifying match at the CCM Kirumba Stadium. Senegal to increase rural electrification by 50 pct in five years

“We have to accelerate the level access to electricity in rural areas to 50 percent by 2012” and this is the objective of the government the minister said Tuesday during a meeting with Aliou Niang general director of the Senegalese Agency for Rural Electrification (ASER). According to the Minister Senegal will strive to achieve this objective with the support of financial partners including the World Bank and the African Development Bank (ADB).
High-grade mineralised zone identified at Senegal gold-prospect

This high-grade mineralised zone was associated with a steeply dipping felsic intrusive region under the mineable reserve openpit design. The zone is characterised by intense silicification and pyrite often including brecciated volcanoclastic rocks that are hematite-altered giving the zone a reddish colour the company said in a statement. Last week the company announced that drilling at the east flat zone of the project had shown that the project contained more than the 101-million ounces of mineable reserves indicated in the preliminary pit design.
